ABOUT
PR and Marketing Strategist in India
My name is Ipsita Johri, and I have cultivated a 22-year career rooted in innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
My journey began in 2001 at TBWA India, one of the country’s top AD/PR agencies, where I orchestrated press, media, and communication campaigns for clients in the education and retail sectors.
During my time at Tata Teleservices, I played a pivotal role in designing a rewards and recognition program for the pay telephony business, becoming one of the youngest internal assessors within the esteemed Tata Business Executive Model.
My adaptability and resourcefulness shone at Columbia Tristar, where I managed PR for films, spearheading groundbreaking events like all-women screenings and unique sponsorship deals with industry giants like ITC.
Transitioning to Sony Pictures and later The Walt Disney Company, my role expanded to encompass marketing for films and home entertainment. I demonstrated exceptional creativity by managing over 100 titles, forging partnerships with exhibitor chains and media outlets, often with limited budgets.
As a young achiever, I embraced journalism, becoming the first and last person to conduct a non-political interview with the legendary Indian politician Shri Jyoti Basu for The Statesman. I also have published articles in newspapers.
In 2011, my entrepreneurial spirit took flight as I launched a furniture design venture, AIZA Designs, creating innovative, artistic pieces that gained recognition in premium lifestyle publications such as Vogue, Verve, Good Homes, Atelier and Elle Décor.
Of the many projects, my company AIZA Designs, designed the flagship retail store for Biswa Bangla at Kolkata Airport for the Government of West Bengal. This project is a true reflection of the commitment to creativity and design innovation, bringing to life a space that captures the cultural essence of West Bengal while offering a unique shopping experience to travellers and visitors alike.
I’ve also been exploring my creative side through writing. I’ve started a collection of blogs, where I share my reflections, thoughts and ideas. You can check them out in the Blogs section to get a glimpse of my evolving writing journey.
I seek to leverage my extensive experience in brand strategy, marketing innovation, and social media. My goal is to collaborate with companies in a freelance or consultant role, bringing my unique blend of creativity and business acumen to drive success. I thrive on crafting compelling brand narratives, fostering strong partnerships, and navigating the digital marketing landscape to achieve impactful results.
